I'm sorry if this is covered on the website, but do we know if vendors will there on Friday afternoon? I'll need to buy a DMS UDDT for a few flights on Friday and Saturday morning.

Probably....but if not I am sure someone there would have one you can borrow. I cant see either of the motor vendors missing a day of flying.

SODBLASTER VI is coming soon!

Where: TriCities Rocketeers / TripoliSouthEast Washington (NAR 736/ TRA 156) @ the SodFarm

When: Labor Day Weekend 2024 August 30-September 2, 2024

Our Website: https://tri-cities-rocketeers.weebly.com/

Sod Blaster VI is just around the corner. We will have four days of flying starting on Friday, contests, a silent auction, and raffle. You may show up at the site for camping starting Thursday mid-afternoon. If you show up earlier than that, please be prepared to move as we will be coordinating rig parking so that we can fit everyone in. It will be first-come,first-served camping. See our TCR website camping page for more details.

Friday and Sunday are designated as TRA launch days, so that means no kids under 18 are allowed at the high-power pads unless they have completed the TRA JR mentoring program. Of course, everyone will still have access to the low power and mid-power pads and both TRA and NAR members can fly on those days.

This year we are having altitude contests for prizes – see our TCR Contests page for more information. We will also host a silent auction on Saturday for some of our bigger ticket items, with the proceeds going to help improve our GSE and pay for the porta-potty rentals. Also on Saturday we will be holding our raffle starting at 6:30 pm. If you have items you want to donate to the raffle, that would be most excellent (no books or used clothing, please). Just bring donated items to the registration table. Before the raffle starts Saturday, we are planning to have a cookie and ice cream social as our way of showing how much we appreciate your support. Bring some of your favorite cookies or a dessert to share.

Night flights will be permitted starting Friday evening, weather permitting. See our Night Flights page for specific requirements. For any other questions, please check our FAQ page. Please be prepared for hot weather and bring plenty of shade, water, and sunscreen.
Sounds awesome Rich! My dad and I are looking forward to a fun weekend as usual. We'll be there Friday midday - Monday. Looking forward to seeing everyone and helping out where we can with the event. We both have some stuff to donate to the raffle and I'm intending on thinning out my collection of parts and partially complete projects I just don't have time for anymore while we are there. I need to get some things organized but I'll also make a post in the Yard Sale forum so folks can reference that as well.

I'm sure Bob or the other vendor (I cannot remember his name at the moment!!!) would have one. If not, I have one that you could borrow, and like Rich said, there will be many of us there that will have them that you could borrow from!

As it turns out, I had one hiding in the bottom of my range box. I guess it's good to empty it out once in a while!

It’s going to be 94 on Saturday. Phew!
Looks like Sunday might get called at some point for being over 100. Bring your Gatorade!

For @rharshberger, what's the most reliable source of weather predictions for the area? I was looking at the Weather Underground forecast for Eltopia and the NWS regional forecast. They mostly agree, but a few degrees difference in temperature might mean the difference between flying and not flying.

Yikes. That temperature forecast has gone up quite a bit since earlier in the week. Last time I looked we were looking at 89-92 degrees for highs over the weekend. Now both sources show it six to eight degrees higher. At least the winds are still forecast to be, for the site, nice and low.

Windfinder is my favorite and as of right now Friday, Saturday and Sunday are looking amazing for wind....as in under 10mph. However.....with TC weather that will change as we get closer to the flying days.

Bring lots of water or at least have water with you during rocket recoveries and if everyone has them please bring an FRS radio. The club will have at least two 5 gallon water coolers (hopefully we can keep ice in them too), they will be located near the range entrance areas.

I'll be there Saturday. Rich, are you still launching the big Sledgehammer that day? I hope to see it fly!

Motors loaded and ready with Mehhhh-Thalox EX propellant, ready to set some Tripoli group records this weekend at Sod Blaster VI

I'll try to stop by late afternoon Thursday to help with setup if needed if I can get on the road early enough. If not, see you all Friday morning.
Sweet! Any chance the Frenzy XL is going to fly? If so, hopefully on Saturday. I'd love to see it in action.

YES, the Frenzy xL3 will be in attendance flying a 75/5120 Mehhh-Thalox EX L969. Sims to 7650'. I might even get some Stickershock in the hotel tonight. I was thinking a Friday flight, but could hold to Sunday if you will be there @mcderek Saturday is out as it will be a NAR rules day / no EX.

Sounds like a great flight! Unfortunately I am only able to attend on Saturday. Such is life!

The car is packed, and I am just about ready to head east in a couple of hours..... I thought a 5.5" rocket took up a lot of room in my car, but man, a 7.5" one takes up even more room!!!!!

See everyone there!

Everything's organized into boxes to load into the car tomorrow morning. That organization should last ... about 12 minutes after starting to prep the first rocket. :D

On the field! Getting ready to start setup this afternoon! Weather for the weekend is hot with light and variable winds!
