Futzing around, I found a small .5/1Watt APRS GPS transceiver that could easily be modified for rocketry use. Only issue is it's a little to rich at ~$250.00 for my blood. If someone was going for real high filer in a small rocket and
was nervous about using an Altus Metrum RDF device, this might fit the bill. Has more power than a Tele-GPS. https://www.db1nto.de/index_en.html and https://www.wimo.com/picoaprs-mini-aprs-transceiver_e.html
Only issue I see is it's only good to 60,000 feet but maker says one can email for other particulars. Interesting. Kurt
