Recently I found that the guy who did our backsplash a few years ago sealed up the leftover caulk with metal foil duct tape. When I cracked it open, I was impressed to find the caulk was still seemingly perfect. So I am sold on that, absent a better approach.

It's more work than popping on a cap; I probably wouldn't do it for something I'm going to use again within the next day or two, but for longer term storage it sure worked great.

Here's another packaging of that Loctite glue. Look like *maybe* it would be easier to maneuver in tight areas than a regular caulk gun. Anyone ever tried (or even seen) it?

Bobby you did an exceptional job on this build. I like the change up of different col.or scheme. When I see builds like this it makes me want to go out and buy the kit, but... I know I shouldn't because there are so many other kits in my queue that need attention, so one day I will. Thanks again for sharing this build thread. It was enjoyable to watch.

I found it on Amazon. May have to pick up one. This looks a lot more convenient than a caulk gun.

That is a fine looking rocket. If I ever want to try something a little bigger that will be on my short list.

@bobbyg23 lives in a time warp, where multiple colors of paint and decals all happen on the same day with nary a wrinkle. :)
In one day really? How does that happen? Paint has to dry to mask things off etc.

I was a little slow on this one. Took about 4 hours total. I was doing some 4th of July stuff getting ready for the fireworks.

Looks great Bobby. It’ll fly nicely on 2, 3, and 4 grain 29mm motors.

Paint doesn't even dry that fast.

Yes, it does.

Not the cheap Rustoleum/Krylon stuff, but something of a little higher quality.
For example, Dupli-Color (from Auto part stores, or Amazon) is an acrylic lacquer aerosol that dries to touch in 5-10 mins, can clear-coat after 30 mins (clear coat takes a little longer to dry). Drying times are even shorter in the summer!

Unlike cheap enamels (Rusto, Krylon), lacquers do NOT have fixed re-coat windows (e.g.: only within 1 hour, or after 48 hours, else might wrinkle), but are a bit more expensive.

I use Duplicolor all the time, but not their lacquer. I'm never it that big of a hurry, but thanks for the insight.

Woof. MY head just exploded.
Bobby, you must live in the desert or something.
I use Rusto 2x and it's still tacky after a day.
I give it 2 days minimum before masking, usually more.
But hey, if it works for you, more power to you.
Just the opposite. It was very humid yesterday when I painted.

Wait for it.......
......
(Sound of @afadeev ’s head exploding)

I was trying to type something insightful, but then....

Any man who can get Rusto 2x to dry, mask, multi-coat, cure, clear-coat ... and not wrinkle in under 4 hours ... is clearly a better man then me!
... or just lives in, and posts from, a parallel universe?
