Did you see my earlier plea for a CP location?
The CG is just about 13" from the rear without the motor, within 1/2" either way is fine. I would guess the CP is about 5" to 7" from the rear.

Guess?!? GUESS?!?!?

Is this rocket science or, OH nevermind, your tagline says it all-

I would calculate the region that occupies a median position of atmospheric dynamic pressures in relation to the geometry of the airframe if in motion through a gas medium w/ ±14psi at V>0 to be greater than (±5.00") but not less than (±7.00") from the trailing edge of the airframe structure assuming airframe orientation is parallel to theoretical horizontal plane with the positive Y axis ascending from the center of a given gravity well.

Here's a SHX-15B building tip....

A BT50 tube under the wing tip makes it easier to keep the wings level as the glue dries.

Not madness, but a pair of 24mm MMTs might be interesting...

I have a single-to-dual MMT quick-change design bouncing around
my head. I might just try it here. <img src="https://rocketryforum.com/images/icons/icon6.gif">

Oh, I am scared! I see SHX-15B optional builds!

Okay...I'm thinking about straying from the norm here and putting a 3 cluster in this. I don't have the sim file on this...Shrox can you tell me adjustments I might have to make...if any?

More nose weight. That is about all I can think of.

Looks great John! What was your choice of adhesive for the wraps? Also, was the stuffer tube a standard BT50 or HD wall?

I used good old white Elmer's glue for the wraps. It worked great for the first wrap. I let it dry overnight and I'll add the second wrap today.

The BT50 stuffer tube is a standard tube out of Flis' super duper tube extravaganza. I'll hit it with a little CA to stiffen it up....nothing special.

Have you started on your SHX-15B yet?

John

Hey Shrox,

I hope you don't mind me posting these build pics on this thread. I've kinda started to take over.....sorry.

I can start a new thread if you'd like.

I am angry and hurt. Please continue, it looks great.

The replacement tubes for the SHX-15B have not arrived yet, as soon as they do I'll send them out.

No pix (besides, they'd be duplicates of OKTurbo's :)) but I
made serious progress on my -15B over the holiday week-end.

shrox- You & the SHX-15B have received the highest compliments
from my wife. Late Monday night we sat at the kitchen table watching
the stabilizers dry and she says "That really is one awesome looking
rocket!"

<img src="https://rocketryforum.com/images/icons/icon11.gif">

I don't think she's EVER said that about any rocket!

BTW- I decided not to go with the cluster this time around, so
mine's built 'stock'.

brianc....no fair....let's see those pictures!

I finally got the first coat of primer on mine after a bit of filler and sanding. More sanding tomorrow and another coat of Kilz.

Oh, alright! :)

Here's my son with the ready-for-sanding bird.

Well, it's not exactly stock. I wasn't thinking when I assembled
the MMT and put the tail CR right at the end of the tube. I realized
afterwards, this would leave the motor hanging out and look 'goofy'...

So I took a 1/2" section of engine hook tube and glued it on the rear.
I just need to remember not to use this as a motor retention device. :)

DANG! mouse challenged tonight. Here's the pic of the tail...
