With overgrown delinquents like me around should we not hav a jokes or humour forum. We could post things that are funnylike that flight that didnt go as planned, or some of the humourous things that happen, or even mypoor attempt at humour.
what do you all think.

And heres one to start off with.

I would second having a humour section - maybe as a sub-section of the Coffee House.

We are a comunity, and all good comunitys have an air of humour about them. I enjoy reading & shareing in the funnies posted here. Most of us seem to have a similar shaped funny-bone, and its good that we enjoy a laugh with each other.

At the end of the day, the decision is with the Mods - I've put my 2p on the table.

I'm not speaking for the other mods, but don't hold your breath on this one. The issue is what actually follows a very vague standard of "good taste" and "suitable for family viewing". Heck, I could even venture to say that the picture DavRedF was in poor taste, just because it was such a bad joke!! :D

In all seriousness, I personally wouldn't want to moderate it because I wouldn't want to have to judge what is okay for all at the risk of making someone mad because they had a great joke that I pulled due to differences on what we thought was suitable for family viewing.

I thought you were going to say that it was in bad taste because you either didn't like the taste of Mars bars or water (darn that DHMO... it shows up everywhere!)

I personally don't think it's necessary...

Maybe a sticky thread here in the coffee house dedicated for people to put their funny stories and jokes along with funny pics.

Hmmm....

Hi KermieD thanks for your points, if you think that joke was bad you aint seen nothing yet.
Seriously though point taken but a humour forum could work with a few very simple rules.
No sex or adult context, no drugs related jokes, nothing racial or offensive to others. Im sure it would take some working out but is a possibility.
As for pulled posts the mod, whoever, must have the last word and if him/her/they say a post is wrong so be it.

Just my thoughts on the subject.

But how do you know what is offensive to others?

As a rough guide if it is not offensive to me then it is a possibility, if it offends me then no way.
You will never please all the people all the time, this is true even in the normal posts.
I have faith that the members of this forum would know the limits

I also agree that a sticky would do as well.
The main reason for this sugestion is that sometimes I am not sure where to put amusing posts and of course jokes.
