Short or Not?

I am rigging the electronics section of my new 3" Honest John.

I have drawn up the schematics for having the deployment charges shorted until on the pad a ready to fire.

Is it worth the extra wiring, switches, ect. to have the charges shorted until ready to launch? I have never had a problem with premature firing but I know it is safer.
