Shear pin length???

Hi guys. Ordering some 2-56 and 4-40 nylon screws from McMaster-Carr tonight. Need to know what length works well for shear pins. These will be used on DD rockets between 54mm and a 6" rocket. I was thinking 1/2" but let me know if I should do something different.

That should work..I don't believe going any longer then 1/2" will gain you anything..Cardboard tubing or fiberglass?

Ditto 1/2" will be fine, Depending on the fit of your components shorter ones can bend over and bind rather that shear off.
