Just so there is no misunderstanding: Shaun is NOT the mannequin sitting in the Orion capsule on Artemis 1. That is "Commander Moonikin Campos" in the orange pressure suit. The mannequin is called a "moonikin" because it is, well, a mannequin that flies around the moon. It is named "Campos" in honor of Arturo Campos. Arturo Campos was the electrical power subsystem manager for the Apollo XIII moon mission. Arturo Campos' work helped bring the Apollo XIII astronauts back to Earth safely.

Hopefully Shaun will be safely recovered on Sunday :).
I am not sure where Shaun is riding. The article says he is in the "Official Flight Kit" (OFK). Another article says that the OFK is where mission mementos and souvenirs are stored. I am not sure where that is located on the spacecraft. Here is the second article (isn't Google amazing?)

SO why is there an "official flight kit" on the spacecraft where mementos and souvenirs are carried? Because of the Apollo 15 scandal when the Apollo 15 astronauts carried stamps into space that were later sold to collectors at a profit.

You know, it seems like the Apollo 15 astronauts were not very smart about this. If you have worked in government, you know that there are bright lines that cannot be crossed. Taking an eagle scout merit badge you got as a teenager with you on a moon mission and then hanging it in a frame in your rec room? No problem. Taking hundreds of postage stamps with you, having the stamps cancelled on the U.S.S. Okinawa after splashdown, and then selling them for thousands of dollars to collectors? Come on. You could see that coming, gentlemen.
