I am building the Semroc Satellite Killer and have a question

Is there supposed to be a gap between the 5 body tubes and the large ring?

Yes, according to the drawings in Centuri's original instructions and in Semroc's. You can always glue in a balsa or fiber shim/standoff if you wanted to. Have fun!

I just built one recently, and was a little disappointed the kit does not have metallic stickers like the original, but the waterside decals look pretty decent over a metallic spray paint. One improvement is using a strip of tyvek instead of paper for the chute retainer.
