Hello, Back in 2006 Gordon Agnello did a build thread on the Semroc Mars Lander kit. He modified a

his lander to use pen springs instead of rubber bands for shock absorbers.
Am working on a Kosrox Lander now and I want to do the same thing. I looked in the archives and found the thread, but no photos.
Any ideas on where I can get the info?
Thanks,
Mark T

I do not know which thread I followed when I did mine. I highly recommend the modifications. Did you search Mars Lander modifications? Being able to remove the shell for repairs is huge. I had a hard landing and was able to repair the damaged leg and housing easily. Play with the springs to get them at the tension you like. The model should be able to stand on it's own weight without any compression.
