So, thinking a bit more, who else do I seem to think recall frequently replying with interest to BigMacDaddy's developmental build threads?

@dr wogz?
Joe, not sure what you are referring to.

  • if I am your SS. No.. (at least, not this year! :D)
  • In replying to BigMacdaddy's build threads? also No.. (Although I might have in the distant past.. - don't remember anything recently..)

So, my memory of who responds often to those is faulty. Like my memory of so many things.

A few days ago when I was clearing off my workbench to glass the fins on the Laserloc, I saw a rocket that Mrs. Elf got for Secret Santa years ago. A Madcow 1.6" Patriot. It flew fine on its first flight with a C11, but went unstable with a flight with an E12 and also went unstable again with another C11 flight. Looking at this rocket, I decided it was worth putting some effort into it to get it flying again :). I bought a Aeropack 29mm retainer base (using a Cap from another rocket I decided to retire) and another 24mm Adapter. I then shoved in an E12 and added enough clay in the nose to move the CG to where the instructions says it should be, and then added a bit more for good measure.

I then entered the specs in Rocksim and did some sims. I tried making an Open Rocket file too but OR kept crashing on me. Based on the sims and what I have in inventory, I am planning to put it up on a D15T for it's next flight. I really do like those D15T's

Its name is Pinky 🤭

Built my gift, the Wildman Dark Star Mini with the 8" payload added. Vinyl by StickerShock. I was surprised it came with a 15" parachute, which isn't nearly big enough for a 21 ounce rocket. I'll check if a 24" chute will fit.
