how does this fully work? also whats a TFR handle can anoyone help me out on that!

Handle comes from the days of Citizen Ban (CB), it's the name you went by over the air. Pig Pen and Rubber Duck probably being the most famous. Lol
Your TRF handle is the name you go by on The Rocketry Forum (TRF)
Your handle is Brian.

You will be contacted via e-mail with your recipient’s name, TRF handle, address, and wish list.

@Brian
When Papa Elf closes registration, June 12th, he will enter all the names into some sort of randomizer. It pairs Secret Santas with their recipients. He will send you an email telling you who your recipient is and the list for that recipient. Keep it secret, hence the Secret in Secret Santa. The lists are wish lists, not shopping lists and contain anything from kevlar shock cord all the way to L3 rocket kits. The rules say $20-$30 bucks but realistically most people spend more than that, especially when you throw in shipping, which will run up to 18 bucks from some vendors.

Just try to order your gift so it will arrive on time. It's disheartening to not receive a gift on time, happened to me a few times. But they have been worth the wait.
Most of all don't sweat it, don't stress over it. Gifts are appreciated no matter what and it is all in good fun. I mean, be realistic though, don't have $100+ items on your list and then only send your recipient a pair of rail buttons. LOL

This looks fun. Do people typically buy a number of items on their recipient’s list? I know the rules say $20-30, but it seems like most things on the lists are more. Not complaining, just trying to understand before I commit and make my own list.

List away! I usually have one item ~100$ in case someone is feeling particularly generous, and the rest are in the suggested range or somewhere in between.

I submit that having a list of solely 200$+ composite kits isnt a great idea

2nd row:

While the $20-30 is suggested, many will send a gift twice, 3, even 4 times higher (and more!)

It's best to have a variety on your wish list. and, your wish list is just that, your wishes / wants! (We've seen lists where the cheapest item is a $200 altimeter)

keep it simple, but do list a few big ticket items!

Remember that your 'SS' might be an LPR guy or an HPR guy, so listing only LPR or HPR items might confuse them (A new LPR guy getting a list for a seasoned HPR mach & altitude buster might be hesitant to fulfill the three items on his list: Carbon tubes, 98mm case, and the titatnium sponges)
