It can be a terrible woe... even if its not your fault!

For example. Christmas 2022. Mailman shoved the packeage into my mailbox, and it didn't fit, so it ripped open the envelope revealing the spoils of one of one of the gifts I got. Then the other item I got I knew mostly what it was because the santa asked me a bunch of questions so I knew basically what I was getting from him (if I remember correctly the only surprise was he threw in a drogue chute), and then I got a gift card but the vendor e-mailed it to me before Christmas..

If only I knew the woe that was about to happen....

I still owe about $2,500 from dealing with that Woe, been paying $100 almost every month towards that....

I didn't open the envelope. The mailbox did. Sorta like those videos where trucks try to drive under bridges that are two low and it peals off the top of the trailor. Thats exactly what the enevelope looked like. The envelope was bigger than the mailbox and the mailman (or lady) decided to shove it in.

Other than that you missed the point. It's my personal example of WOE.

Seriouisly though, I don't honestly believe that knowing what I got for Christmas lead to all these troubles, It's just a good story that fits the theme I drive a old car, and I have been making trips to Cincinatti two to three times a year, with one of the trip extending into south western TN.... the chance of rolling mechnical problems was always in the dice and that time I rolled snake eyes.

That was just part of the problem. Remember the tow truck damaged the car, which we had to pay oop to get fixed (but insurance eventually took care of that), and then they also did additional work to the engine, which they completely messed it up. We had to turn around so they can "fix it". Ended up having to get the work redone by our mechanic at home. Thankfully the shop in KY refunded most of the money for the botched job. So far the work they did on the transmission seems to be working...

The engine work could of waited for me to get home... but the quote was fair and would of explained the milage issues I was experiencing... and I figured might as well get it done then since it will be sitting in the shop for 2 weeks waiting for the transmission to come in... Lessons learned.

Pretty much paying a second car loan on a car that is already paid off. Really puts a damper on wanting to trade it in for something better.

Like I said, AVOID THE WOE.

Simple fix. Your next project is to get back into all your interrupted projects. Problem solved...or is that Project solved?

A BIG box from Estes arrived today addressed to "TRF Papa Elf." I am assuming Estes must recycle boxes because there is a label on the side of it that says Pro Series II Optima. Qty 6. Imagine getting 6 Optimas. Lets see... Build one stock, 3x 24mm, will 3x 29mm fit?, 38mm, 54mm... some "The Shadow" Themes... Well, the Optima is on my list, so maybe I'll get at least one.

Now someone tell Mrs. Elf to stop offering hints! I want to be surprised Christmas morning

The List has been updated. Please let me know if I made a mistake or left something out. Looks like everyon has something ordered, and the ones that have not been marked shipped are either waiting for the final items to arrive to ship their box of goodies to their recipient, or failed to report clearly to me that they shipped their item. I do look on this thread but sometimes I am not sure if you meant you shipped your item or you recieving an item.

Papa Elf Special Drawing will be on Monday! I already got the "Tickets in the Bucket." Thank you for those who have donated towards the shipping of the PES shipping already, but I know this year it is going be more than what was brought in. Is there anyone else out there that want to make a pledge to cover the remaining balance once I know how much the prize is going cost to ship out?
