The Little Joes were to me the most visually appealing rockets of my youth. I have several LJ IIs sitting around waiting to be built but they don't capture my imagination the way the Mercury version did.
I built Dr. Zooch's Little Joe. It was the hardest thing I had done up to that time. I used a lot of vocabulary words that I thought had been safely relegated to my past. The results were worth it though. It is by no means a masterpiece such as many on TRF create on a routine basis but it represent my best work to date when it was done. Memories of the LES tower still cause me to slip back into my older vocabulary but these days I'm blaming that on the SHR Mercury Redstone LES.
