Runcam Split 4 used in rocket?

I found this camera meant for mini drones and I wanted to ask if anyone here has used one in a rocket before. I want to mount the camera internally in a 54mm coupler. It has no battery and is designed to be connected to a drone flight controller. I am wondering if anyone here has ever used one or if anyone has ideas on how I could use components off the shelf to act as the esc to protect it and from surges so I do not need to use a flight controller. I do not know how much about electronics, so this will be a learning opportunity. The entire camera and board only weigh 10.2g without a battery.

If I connect a battery to a UBEC then directly to the camera this should allow me to directly power the camera safely, correct?

I found this thing 2s lipo in and 5v 3 amp out.
