I'm building a large 'spool' rocket, and am trying to figure out the best way of simulating it on Rocsim.
I have used the weightless transition 'correction' successfully for smaller spools and ones where the rear plate is at the back. On this rocket the rear plate is 10 inches from the rear of the rocket, plus it is a little bigger than other ones I have done.
One other question is the effect of surface roughness on the front plate. This one is certainly a different texture than most.
I'm planning to launch with a Skyripper K motor.
Questions,
1) should I add a mass less transition to the front plate?
2) does the rear transition look 'right' based on the offset between the rear plate and end of engine.
