Hey all!

After seeing the editors plea for articles in the last UKRA newsletter, me and Dan (Cydermaster) thought we might as well write one! :)eek:) After deciding we can't do one about TRF (Not really enough for a whole article) we thought we might as well do one on Rocketry on the Internet in general!

Soooo we thought we'd cover TRF (of course), ROL, EMRR, List some Manufacturer websites, Rocket Vendors, and something else I've probably forgotten. And we need you guys to help us by listing some good websites about rocketry you use, and why you use them.

Cheers,

Phil

Don't forget Rec.Models.Rockets

While it can be a bit juvenile, it does have the ability to show the passion some people feel about the sport in general.

Might also want to include some of the other "semi-private" discussion groups like those on Yahoo! Groups. Also, an interesting angle would be the wide variety of web information, ranging from MicroMaxx sites to those devoted strictly to highly experimental high-power stuff - sort of the Extreme Sports version of our hobby. You can find just about anything you are interested in online.

Good point, wwattles, I'd forgotten about the specialist Yahoo groups - I subscribe to a few of them too!

Theres also sites like JimZ & Ye Olde Rocket Shoppe plans, which should be mentioned.

I gave the idea some (drunken ;) ) thought, last night, and getting 1 - 1½ pages of A5 article together won't be all that hard. Theres alot of rocketry stuff in t'internet!

We could sweet talk the 10..9..8 people into putting the article on the same page as our TRF ad - that would rule! :kill:

Shouldn't a problem Dan, if I remember right the editor of 10..9..8.. is TRF's very own Richard!

Lol :)

1-1 1/2 A5 pages? Thats nothing! A list of links for manufacturers could take up that much space.

And I completely forgot about JimZ and stuff... They are definitly the sort of thing you could *only* get on the internet.

And maybe the Gates Brothers website as I think this is a perfect example of a brilliant personal rocketry website. Not to mention all the cool pics and vids :D
Or maybe we could just sneak the ad in and they wont notice? :kill:

But pretty dull. Anyone can find rocketry vendor's web sites in google. I liked your earlier idea about _why_ people use particular resources, why they go back, what the "flavour" is.

Like the idea about describing some of the yahoo groups too. I find space-modelers particularly good.
