Do you plan to keep that site up?

We could archive it on the wiki. I am not sure who owns it now. TRF?

No problem. I can get sites like that set up in short order on Netlify.

I have over a decade of professional experience building web application front-ends so I can knock out pretty much anything you would want.

Yes, I was planning on it. However, I would love to have it superceded by whatever form the “wiki” ends up taking.

However there are three problems with the legacy INFOcentral content:
  1. Copyright. I took a stab at addressing it here but I'm no copyright lawyer. It would probably be wise to start over from scratch unless we can track down individual contributors.
  2. It is a loose collection of articles, not a wiki-style knowledge base. The information architecture needs work.
  3. There is a lot of content that didn't age very well e.g. rules and regulations, anything about specific electronics, etc.

something that may help in the book. For those using mini or micro rail buttons, need to be careful before buying the rails to make sure they will fit the buttons. Not all 20 mm rails will work for mini-buttons, (I suspect the same is true to for micro-buttons.)

Here is a comparison of cross sectional areas of working rail from 80/20 store versus a rail (which may be a great rail for SOMETHING but does NOT work for mini-buttons) from another vendor

Okay, side by side comparison. Take home lesson is that if you look to save money on a knock off, make sure you check the cross sectional diameters, as at last THIS one didn't work.

Hopefully others will learn from my mistake.

The "slot" on the "real" 80/20 rail is 5.26 mm compared with 6.2 mm on the ZYLtech. This is probably the main reason the buttons won't work on the Knock-Off Rail.
The "internal width" of the slot on the 80/20 is 11.99mm compared with 11 on the ZYLtech
The "depth" of the slot on the 80/20 is 4.70mm compared with 4.3 mm on the ZYLtech.

Bottom line is that the Mini-Buttons will fit in the slot of the ZYLtech, but the outlet of the slot is too wide, and with a minimal twist/angulation of the button the button falls out of the hole.

Here is a side by side cross section comparison of the 80/20 Rail from the

sources of above information.

and yes, the information WAS there when I ordered it, I just didn't know that there were any differences, I figured they all had the same dimensions.
