I live in Ventura. I was curious if there's anyone in this town or area. Maybe we could find a land owner that would let us launch from time to time if it's all covered by our NAR insurance. At least for LPR to MPR.

Would love to hear from some of you. I know there's people buying rocket supplies from my friend Verne at Ventura Hobbies. Would love to hook up with you.

ROC is hardly local to Ventura, they're about 160 miles apart.

OK. I go up to Black Rock desert from San Francisco, so 160 miles to a high-power site with great people sounds pretty close to me.

    "Rocketeers local to me..."

Amen to that question....I live in Dayton, TX and I was wondering if there are any fellow rocketeers/TAPS in this area...
There are so many of acres with so much flying potential...

NASA Rocket club is...well...in Houston....maybe some day, ...but don't care for Houston.....I was stuck living there too long....43 years...

...and Houston Tripoly Club.... they fly in Hearn, Tx.....CLOSER to AUSTIN than they are to Dayton...

    So....
Anyone in the Dayton/Liberty, TX area????

    Tripoly# 18748

Gotta be someone in this area!!!

    GOOD POST STEVENEILL!!!

I live in Lompoc. I've often thought about starting a club in our area, but I've not dedicated any time to finding a suitable launch site. I don't really have a home field, but I attend launches at Cantil (FAR), Lucerne (ROC), Holtville (Tripoli San Diego), Black Rock, and formerly Helm (Tripoli Central California).

A large number of rocket folks aren't on TRF, so it's possible you may not connect with locals here.

I'd recommend leaving your contact info with Verne at Ventura Hobbies and asking him to pass it along to the people buying the rockets.

The Southern California Rocketry Association (SCRA) has launches two or three times a month at the Santa Fe Dam near Irwindale.

Here's a website for this NAR Section:

    http://home.earthlink.net/~mebowitz/

I drive up from San Diego (110 miles each way) several times a year to fly at this site.

    Regarding ROC...
Twice a year in June and November, ROC holds three-day weekend launches. These may be worth your 4 hour trip.
