I finally figured out how to post PICS, thanks to all who helped me out. This is by far one of the nicest forums I have EVER joined. More to follow, and again thanks to all.

Thank you Dr.
The other rocket is an Estes Mega Sizz. I have not flown the Phoenix yet, but the Mega Sizz really motors on a D motor.

Cool! I didn't realize the MegaSizz was that tall - seing one next to the Phoenix gives a great sense of scale.

Wow cool! the MegaSizz looks like it would make an easy conversion to a scale D reagion Tomahawk.

nice rockets dude. I built one similiar to that megasizz. The rocket was fitted with a D but I lost it after the 2nd launch :(. I think it went about 1000ft in the air. If I remember right, it landed on someones roof. I think I used a BT55 tube or bt50...

I have to agree on the "MEGA SIZZ"... Great rocket... one of the oldest in my current fleet... it really screams...

Like you LocalX.. I have an unflown Pheonix. This is my second one... the first was somewhat underpowered on a "D"... so I've bought AT E-30s for this one... really can't wait to try 'em...!!!

I just finished cloning a vintage Estes Sky Raider that is BT55 with a 24mm MMT. I plan on a C11-3 first flight. Depending on how that goes, I'm letting it rip on a D12-5. I love the MegaSizz too. It's a sleek looking rocket that just looks fast.

Nice work LocalX. Great builds there.

Interesting -

You may be right. But that also brings into question just how "scale" the Estes D-Region Tomahawk is - and I say this just because of the nose cone supplied with the kit.

The Mega Sizz is BT60 based and uses the same 5:1 ogive cone as the Sentinel, Magnum, National Aerospace Plane, and Raven.

The Estes D-Region Tomahawk is also BT60 based and uses the shorter ogive cone used on the PAC Patriot (current kit) and Stormcaster.

I'm too lazy to go look up scale data on the D-Region Tomahawk. Which one would be closer???

OOOOOoooh, and here's an idea: How about a Mega Mega Sizz? Upscaled to a BT70 and using the Apogee 5:1 nose cone. An interchangeble 29mm / 2 x 24mm motor mount would be in order. :D

According to Peter Always 'Scale Bash', the D Region Tomohawk has a 3:1 cone. Here is a list:

BT-50 Alpha cone

BT-60: Prowler cone (This is that generic BT-60 cone) Is this the same as in the Stormcatser???

BT-80 Phoenix , Executioner

BT-101 V-2

I don't see it in their product list on their website which would lead me to believe it is now out of production (OOP).
