Seth, my mistake. This unit is the 400 series as it uses the higher band transmitters I will confirm this with the owner of CS tomorrow. I just spoke to him earlier this year when I ordered the 5 new transmitters.

The 400 has a second selector above the frequency selection setting.
Also. Every 400 I’ve seen and used has dials for the gain adjustment.

Unless this thing is older than my 10 years in the hobby and the old 400’s look like this.

Could the OP post the tag on the side of the unit to confirm the model number?

It works perfectly and I take great care of my electronics. That’s why I stately accurately excellent condition. This unit has been stored in the case unless being used since the day I purchased it

It is probably 8 years old and Consolidated did an interval upgrade about 4-5 years ago

I can solve this riddle! His unit is # 2899, mine is #2901 difference of 2.
Mine is 12 years old and the second of new units that came with the folding antenna with orange pistol grip built on.
Retail at the time was 500.00 It is a 400 series.
I sent mine in 2 yrs ago just to have it checked out. Randy told me is was in perfect condition with no drift. There is no difference in new units as far as reception, they have slimed down the case and added a few features.
But as far as everyday usage there is no difference.
Considering you get 5 transmitters with it and a nice case, I would consider this a very fair price.

What's nice is, unit covers enter range from 219-224. You can get trackers from Marshal & LLC among others that will work with this unit, that have higher output & range than Comm-Spec now sells. My Marshal antenna is only 6in. long.
