Well, at least turkeys. Posted some progress pics over in the what did you do rocket-wise thread as I built this but finished up (enough for pics) so I felt like making a new topic.
Nothing fancy 3" upscale Goblin (well, Gobblin' as you can see). Estes PSII DBRM nosecone, 3" body tube, 29mm motor tube + retainer, 30" chute. Homemade 1/8" ply fins and centering rings(3 of them). Epoxied the bottom-end, so it should theoretically hold up to flights on small H motors (we'll see if I ever get there). Setup with both launch lugs and rail buttons for some flexibility. OR says it should fly ok even on an E30 to 400' but I suspect the F42s I have here are a better option.
But anyways, I'm a fan of wild turkeys for all kinds of reasons, so the thought hit me to make a little play on their sound plus I've never built/flown a Goblin. Made the decals in Gimp and printed on laser waterslide paper. Turned out ok. Hope this bird flies nicely (something, something dad joke). Maybe next weekend.
