I still say that the end of mankind will be less, errrmmm...... dramatic. Not so much like the terminator. Instead, like everything else, the porn industry gets involved, and produces fully life-like sex-bots. And the end of mankind comes about because reproduction essentially stops. I mean, why date a real girl when there are sex-bots? We will just let ourselves die off, as birth rates plummet.

There was an old movie called "Brainstorm", the gist of it was they invented a machine that would read the sensory inputs to our brain- sight, feelings, etc., and record them. Then another person could play them back and see/hear/feel everything that you felt. Imagine feeling what it's like to climb a mountain, ride in a jet fighter, things like that. So if a person could play a tape and feel everything, why would anyone want to actually do something. People would just stay home and play the tapes. This would create some stagnation in society.

I always wondered if you are going to make robots, should they be created in human form? Would it be more efficient to make robots like R2D2 or some other shape. Maybe a robot would be more efficient with 4 or 6 legs.

Star Trek Holodeck would also cause the same result. Already you have people who just stay home and play videogames all day.
Imagine the fall of humanity into doing nothing and dying out because we spend all our time in a Holodeck.

I think that process has already started. It's not the robots that'll end man kind, it'll be our complete reliance on automation to survive.
