I'm a little surprised that I rarely see any models based on Goddard designs. I've been working on a BT-60 version of Goddards L-13, but others exist.

Plus, he transported his rockets to the pad in style.

Excellent! Jim Flis is doing some sort of Goddard related rocket kit for people going to NARCON. And there is a commemorative launch at Aunt Effie's farm since the "first flight" anniversary is the week following NARCON.

Awesome, Jim is the man so I'll be excited to see what he has planned.

Actually, Goddard's L13 is one of the two we're doing :)

We are also looking to do his first rocket (that gangly collection of tubes and pumps)

The pix I have below show:
  • Goddard L13 on the pad (bt-60 based)
  • Ignition for a perfect flight on a B6-4. She's flown on B6-4, B4-2, C6-5
  • Goddard Rocket in its launch rack
  • Liftoff of the Goddard rocket
  • Nice flight shot. This model has flown on B6-2, B4-2 and C6-3 motors

The launch rack used with the Goddard rocket will not be a part of the kit but we will provide plans for a free download for those who want the added level of realism :)

I will be building new proto's this coming week (or next) as I begin to work out the instructions for assembly. They are both very cool rockets. The plan is to announce them at NARCON in March, so stay tuned!

Very cool, Jim! The NARCON registration page says "A free commemorative "Robert Goddard" rocket kit by FlisKits will be provided to the first sixty (paid) registrants". I assume it will be one of these?

I'm donating 30 of each and you get to pick (at the time you arrive at the event) which one you want :)

You *will* have an adequate quantity of both for sale at NARCON, right? :dark:

Otherwise I'm liable to cough up a lung having to make that choice! :y:

Thanks very much for your excellent support of NARCON, Jim! :happydeer:

Jim's Goddards rocket is a little bigger then my 1/3 Scale version. that was designed around the old 10.5mm B2 motors. Was a very interesting flight...just the the real one LOL!!! Actually it was very KEWL flying it at Goddard Space Flight Center.
It was a fun project and I have a couple others that I've been looking at for Micro size builds.

Hello.
Here is a video of a Goddard A 5. If it were gasoline and LOX ...

I don't know where there are dimensional drawings
I do. Right now, I'm doing layout on a new booklet, "Nineteen Rockets of Robert H. Goddard." The title is subject to change, in case I remove or add any subjects. The A-5 is definitely in, though. My plan is to sell it mail-order or through dealers starting in May or June, when I will be out of work (I'm teaching online right now as an emergency measure, but I'm not actually qualified to do it next semester). I expect to have some of my existing booklets available as well in May ("The First Seven Centuries of Rocketry," "Eighteen Rockets and Missiles of WW II," and "The V-2 Modeler's Painting Guide.") I'll post more when I know it.
