Congratulations! After receiving 94 votes, we have a winner!

I have included all the points (1=3 pts, 2=2 pts, 3=1 pt) as well as the ranking. Ranking was only needed for one tie break, but yields interesting results. Does anyone like the idea of only using Ranking for the next contest? (note to self: save that question for next contest)

Special thanks to the Sponsors!!!! Also, thanks to the voters and the all-important... participants. This was fun.

Winners may start to choose their prizes: http://www.rmrdescon.com/prizes.shtml

You may make your choice announcement here on this forum.

* Please be sure to send me an e-mail (get address from Descon site) that includes your prize choice, your valid e-mail address and your snail mail address for me to communicate with the sponsors.

Hi Nick,

I can't believe it! Its just a shame there weren't more votes, but then I don't know how many people usually vote in Descon Contests.

As my prize I will take the Propulsion Polymers PentaMax motor set, with 2 reloads.

Thank you very much for all the time and effort you have put into running the contest, its very much appreciated. I shall definitely be purchasing a couple of this years EMRR calendars, and your EMRR-ware looks nice too :)

Thanks again,

Niall
Okay, on to Mark Schrader!

I watched your launch video--very impressive!

Nick--thanks for your hard work. I emailed earlier but thought this might help speed things up.

For a prize I'd like the ARA Press Spaceship Handbook.

On to Art...

Thanks! I'm looking forwards to flying it again, I've been thinking about putting a timer in both stage and going with 6 D12's in the booster, igniting 2 E9s with the interstage timer, and then airstarting another pair with a timer in the sustainer (since I made two timers.) I just wish I'd made all the MMTs 95mm long instead of 70!

I really liked the look of your Polish Meteor, that is such a cool rocket. I could do with putting some more time into finishing, yours looked really nice.

Folks, due to Rule #8 being added during this last Descon, I failed to appropriately ID who should be picking prizes:

8) Each entrant may only win one prize based on the highest placement of the entrant's one or two entries.*

* If there are more than enough prizes, then prize selection will begin again with the highest placing second entry per entrant

So this means I get a prize?! Woo hoo!
What exactly do all those #'s mean?:
"PRIZE: 15) Tim Breland, 12 Pts, Rank 17 - 782, "Aeon", TRF"
I'm sure it's simple, but I can't figure it out.
12 Pts, Rank 17 - 782 ??

Also, a big thank you to Nick and all the sponsors.
It was a lot of fun, and I hope to get into more of these contests.

I think if I interpret the rule correctly, I shouldn't be getting prize #11 and the list should get bumped downward so American Spirit would pick up the last prize after all.

Cool :). Thanks for pointing that out. It will be interesting to see what prize I end up with, since I am last in line (so far) ;).

Thanks to:
  • Nick for running the contest, and for making my entries look good in HTML!
  • Sponsors for supplying prizes
  • Everyone who voted for my entries :D
  • Everyone else who took part, be it as contestant, voter or both
I'd like the Fliskits Freedom Forge. It won't be built as standard, I've had an idea I want to try out - Fred 'n' George... ;)

My guess would be 15th place, 12 points from the voting system; 17th place, 782 points from the ranking system.

Nope, due to another prize selection mistake, you actually will get a prize... the last remaining one, but as I see it, ALL the prizes are very nice.

Now I'm the one that missed it by one...

Been without power and phone for 4 days.

I'll take the $25 PML Gift Certificate.

Thanks for waiting.
Good thing I'm not in the 20% of Alabamians still without power.
Man, what a mess.
I never expected Ivan to cause us so much trouble, so I didn't bother preparing or posting anything. Then after the storm, and after knowing our home was fine, all I could think about was how long would it be before I could get back on the forum. Almost 5 days. I was having serious withdrawals.
