RIP: Sam Sheppard (Chuck Yeager in "The Right Stuff")

Sam Sheppard passed away at the age of 73 from ALS. He was involved in many movies, but we probably will best remember him as Chuck Yeager in the classic rocketry movie "The Right Stuff".

Indeed- he made some fine movies. I think I need to watch the Right Stuff- it has been too long.

Does everyone here know that the REAL Chuck Yeager was also in "The Right Stuff"? He played "Fred" the bartender at Pancho Barnes'. To have to play the man in some of the same scenes as the man himself must have been a challenge (and a thrill) for Sam.
