Retro classic revival games

I don't play games much, so they've got to be both excellent and CHEAP before I'll buy them. I love 2D scrolling arcade games. Two candidates below. Other suggestions for PC or XBox 360 welcome.

Interesting point. When I think of "games" I automatically think of computer or console ones which is why I didn't specify that in the title.
