Would it be possible to add: "xx" number of "useful" posts before you can post to the Yard Sale section? I find too many people spamming the forums with; Hi I just registered to sell my stuff. Then never post again with any real input to the forum.

Just a suggestion...

Noted, and we're discussing it.

Thanks for the suggestion!

How about placing yard sale posts beyond "x" number of days old in an archive.

Not everyone will close a post as item sold.

There are presently 769 yard sale posts going back to January of 09 to peruse.

If the OP wants they could resurrect it by perhaps adding a reply to the item in the archive to make it live again.

If that's not doable, the OP could just create a new post for the item.

as for new people joining just to sell and then dissappearing, i would like to see them have at least x posts on TRF and have been a member for at least a few weeks.

Would it be possible to point the Yard Sale to one of the Rocketry auction sites?
That would work, except that not everyone wants to sell stuff in auction format.

But the alternative is to force these new users to send ten useless messages before they can post. Essentially we would *ask* them to spam the forums. Just me, but if we're going to have clutter, I'd rather keep it all in one place. Someone might be interested in buying from a new member and other members of his/her local club might already know them or remember them. Again, just me, I tend to just ignore sellers that I don't know.
