Anyone have any idea why the Certaur second stage is contained within the payload fairing? Centaurs have been flying nekkid for decades.

I wondered that too. Perhaps they didn't want to paint it.

Because there's something there that the Air Force doesn't want you to see?

I thought it was funny that they said it is a secret mission but it says on the Wikipedia what the missions are.

Sunday’s launch of a secret space plane produced some eye-catching images
We may not see the X-37B in space, but we can still enjoy its Earth departure.
