I know this has been done before, but I would just like to share my version.

(Check out the attachment, or read below.)

The coolest thing about a 2 staged rAstrocam is the 3 different ways you can take pictures.

  1. At drop off of first stage for a staging shot
  2. At apogee of single stage
  3. At apogee of 2nd stage for max altitude
    [/list=1]

Bear with me as I have only flown this as a 2-stager twice. The first time, I goofed the camera mechanism. The second flight yielded an image from about 100 ft. Although the shot of the 1st stage falling off was really cool, I learned that a C6-0 booster doesn't get the whole rocket very high. I think I may add a 3rd stage with 24mm power for more altitude.

Lastly, I plan on toting my Edmonds Deltie Thunder with a finless rAstrocam-like booster pod. Hopefully this will yield an awesome picture of the glider falling off of the pod.

    More projects to come!!! ENJOY!
