On my last hybrid test I found out the speed of both steel and brass. The steel was quite a bit more dramatic though. I melted the compression nut fitting on my parker polyflo fitting that was my injector. I attribute this to using the 6 point star injector that shot nitrous out in a half sphere pattern.
On my nozzle is where I reached the speed of steel. During the blowdown phase of the motor the exit cone became red hot, then white and melted through. It then proceded to melt an irregular pattern in it. I've attached a few pictures of what happened. On my new hybrid I have removable graphite throat inserts that will make the nozzle last longer.
