I saw a posting on Facebook of somebody making one of the classic Estes invader rocket gliders and I remember Scott Branche doing one as RC back in the day but I don't remember if he ever flew it. So my latest design, a 19 inch radio controlled version of the Estes invader using depron 6mm foam sheet. I removed the dihedral as it wasn't really needed. It flies on the 18 mm d 2.3 longburn motors and weighs 5.75 oz ready to fly. I did have to remove and make a new pylon as the first one I built wasn't quite long enough to get the CG required. I did trim the vertical stabilizers back so they clear the elevons. This is all just a swag, I just eyeballed a picture and drew what I thought I'd need with enough motor elevation to get the exhaust away from the fins and the tail.
Surprisingly it didn't pitch down that bad on boost and I was able to trim it out in a couple of flights, glide was super with no trim required.
