Question on delay elements.

Can you drill a delay element to make the delay time shorter?

Example: Take a G64-10 (29mm 40-120 RMS) and drill the delay element to make the same size or length of a G64-7's delay element.

Does this work? It seems to me it would.

Yes it does work.
I have not done it myself but have seen it done.
From everything I have read about it 1/32" = 1 sec.
