I have completed my Quest MLAS model that I started a few weeks ago.

It turned out pretty nice. :)

I was concerned about working with the foam capsule but it turned out just fine.

The weight of my MLAS (Without motor or wadding) was 3.5 ozs. I built it stock with no modifications.

I will be flying it tomorrow at the San Diego NAR Section's (DART) launch at Fiesta Island.

I'll take my camera so I can post pictures of the flight. :D

LOOKS AWESOME,

I got a question, how was your balsa? the first on I got the balsa was incredibly lightweight, and very fragile. the replacement I got it was really nice.

Just wondering if the first one I got was just a fluke somehow!

good luck on its maiden flight!

Mark,

Thank you for the compliment.

The balsa on my MLAS was pretty firm. I was worried about applying too much force when sanding but the balsa was tougher than it looked.

I'm looking forward to launching it. :D

The first one I got had to be a fluke. I broke a fin sanding it, (against the :Dgrain) then I broke one stuffing the nose cone in. then broke one putting it in my car. I'm glad that's not the way it was intended.

Nuts!

The launch was cancelled because of weather (Rain & wind). :(

I'll have to wait until next weekend to fly my MLAS.
