Usually remembers to get the pointy end up
When I first started 3D printing, I was using Sketchup. I had heard of OpenSCAD, which seemed like a really dumb idea at first glance, but I was intrigued by the ability to do stuff parametrically. Once I tried it, I was hooked, and it's all I use now for 3D design. Coming from a software background, writing code - and keeping things organized in the way that only code can - has enormous benefits. However, the language really, really sucks (IMO). I had heard of python frontends for it, and so I did some searching, and it seems that everyone's got their own flavor: solidpython, PythonOpenSCAD, OpenPyScad, openscad.py, etc.
Has anyone tried any of these, and have any recommendations?
Or, are their other algorithmic 3D design tools, with a better language than OpenSCAD?
