I am fed up with estes igniters since they quit putting pyrogen on them. Does anyone have a good source for pyrogen I could dip them in?

I mix black powder with ping pong balls and acetone. Makes a great pyrogen,

+1 for the Quickburst product. I'd like to try the ping pong ball DIY sometime.

It is quite effective! My old college IREC team experimented with making them.

What they didn't tell me was that they decided to test them using one of the Meas. & Instrumentation lab's power supplies. You can imagine the lab proctor was really happy about it spitting all over the workbench.....

I think regulations required them to not include any of the chemicals deemed dangerous in their igniters.

I thought it was hazmat shipping brought on by the regulations. Or maybe it couldn't have the pyrogen and still be classified a 'toy'.
