Pulled the trigger! Ordered the MK4 w a Satin sheet.
$1277. inc $138 shipping UHL worldwide.
3-4 weeks out. 3-5 days to ship. Maybe May?
Thought the MK4 deserved it's own thread - not that XL one! :)

FWIW...I ordered a MK4 at 2pm ET when the shipping estimate said 1-2wks. Checked my order status and it says:

Expected to ship between 5/30/2023 and 6/5/2023

I'm not in a big hurry, but that's far from the 1-2wk estimate shown at the time or the 3-4wk estimate currently shown. So much for "shipping now".

They probably had 10-20K sold in 1-2 hours. I am waiting for the kit. $799 is a steal. I will probably buy 4.

When the kit is available, I will be ordering one or two and when the upgrade is available, I will be ordering two.

The "switch to MK4" option might have shifted the timeline a bit. I wonder how many people did that...
The 10-20K does not include the XL switches. Based on posts on their forum and questions on the blog, I would say the number is relatively small (1K?). That is conjecture, but it is best you will get.

BTW, this is the first I've heard of the MK4. The XL has been in the spotlight for many months now. Have I missed news about the MK4? Is this why the XL is delayed maybe??

The news has been rumors, and yes, you probably missed it. I am a member of their forum and several other groups. Pictures were unearthed several times in the last year. They have been testing this printer in various forms on their farm over the last 6-12 months (per their blog).

Very nice; it sounds like a worthy successor to the MK3. (I'm going to stick with my XL order, since I already have a couple other small printers.)

Probably a good move. I will be ordering a kit when they are finally released. I want to try out PrusaConnect.

Wonder how long till clones come out...

On of the issues I have discovered with Clones is they will not work with Prusa Connect. I might be done with the clones unless I do not like Prusa Connect. I have heard a lot of good things about it.

Still waiting on reviews on real XL.
Not much out there. I have had a few conversations with the MODs on Prusa Forum, and there was a comment confirming it on Prusa Live today. I think people are afraid to post because of the negativity on the forums and facebook.

This is an interesting take on the whole Mk 4 rollout from Prusa. I'll admit I'm a "Prusa Fanboy" but the guy does make some interesting comparisons and in my mind, failed to answer the question he originally stated; "Is it worth it?" I only post this to be "fair and balanced" as I tend to weigh heavily in favor of the Prusas in my comments...

From that video I take it as he was not impressed. Has anyone played with the Bambu Lab printer?

Yes and I will do a head to head comparison once I get my MK4 Kit.
I am going to do the upgrade kit once available. Just the ease of removing nozzle assembly is worth it to me after having to clean one of mine because the heat sink came loose.

At the risk of investing in two new systems you might consider replacing your V6 hot end with a Revo. Single best upgrade I've done for any printer in my tiny farm. My Mini and MK2.5 both have Revo's. My MK3 will get a Revo or Nextruder whenever the V6 conks out.

I use a Revo on two of my Minis, and it is fantastic.

That my compadres @Chad and @manixFan both own Prusas was to a large degree the reason I took the plunge on a Mk. 4 today. 6-8 weeks quoted for delivery, but I gather that may be optimistic. That's fine since I need to make space for it.

Informative interview by Thomas Sanladerer:

Yes, very informative - thanks for posting that. Def wets my appetite!

I, too am optimistic. Ordered mine 3-4 weeks out, and Prusa has already taken the $ out of my account. In my experience w the MK3, they took the $ out right before shipment. I do not think they would take my $ and make me wait for several weeks before shipping. 🤞
