I am interested what tools and jigs people hhave out there.

I am working on perfecting tools to make igniter blanks.

I made a fin alignment jig for the LOC IV (and some other sizes). It worked but for it to work like I intended it needs some modifications (longer tube section for the fin tabs and the hole for the motor tube needs to be a thru hole.

Center hole slides over the motor tube, Fins slip into the slots. Fat end fits into the sustainer. Obviously the rear bulkhead isn't installed (just the middle and front). I twisted the fat end to make the vertical fin vertical and the other two lined up. Tack with super glue, dry, add epoxy. I also used my guillotine fin jig on a flat surface and a framing square to visually align the top fin to the vertical.

Another jig I am trying out:

It allows me to get the split end a uniform length.

Does anyone else have a 3d printed jig or tool they use for igniters? Any ideas?

Made these a while ago, but they may spark some ideas for others. Ones for squaring tubes, the other is for beveling fins.

Edit: No idea why the pictures are so small. 😐

I made a couple jigs for my F22 rocket. First was a couple of aligner jigs to evenly space a pair of BT55 body tubes as they were fixed in place with a couple 3D printed spacer forms. The second was an angle setter to hold the vertical stabilizers while the glue set.

I'm building an FPV Racing Spec wing and needed to cut the elevons to a specific angle, so I made this miter box with angles of 26.565°.

If anyone wants the link, just let me know.

I like Starbond CA glues, so I made a caddy to hold three bottles, a bottle of accelerator, and a place for the spare tips.

PM me for the link or STL.

Here's a simple balancing jig I made for the Spec wing. Print up two sets. Red cup inverts over the purple cone (think tire balancer). The red cup has alignment marks to line up on the CG of the wing. Simple and works great. It's only a couple inches tall when in use.Spec Wing balancing jig.PNG
