I think we really need to give credit to RocketLab for their mission names:
#1: It's a Test
#2: Still Testing
#3 It's Business Time (first paid mission, also a reference to this marginally SFW song)
#4-6 Boring NASA/DARPA/DoD names
#7: Make It Rain (reference to cusotmer Spaceflight Industries' hometown of Seattle)
#8: Look Ma, No Hands
#9: As the Crow Flies (reference to customer Astro Digital's Corvus platform)
#10: Running Out of Fingers

I like multi stage rockets with the stages named
Example
Whole Rocket- The Joker
Booster- Maurice
Second stage- Gangster of Love
Sustainer- Space Cowboy.

M

My wife flew her Sumo ten times. She changed the name for each flight. Here are the ones I can remember. See if you can detect a theme.

3 sum
5 guys
7 minutes in heaven
6 chicks
9 times
Both hands

You raise an excellent question good sir. Of course, "Core Dump" might also be a good rocket name.

There could be a whole C.S. theme:
Thrown Exception
"try{} catch{}" (dubious name for a rocket)

EDIT: maybe "Exception Thrown" instead.

I think a good name for a high-powered rocket would be "Impulse Purchase". Probably been used before.

Where did I see that... there's this one: LINK

ahh CS is a fertile source for terms about Things That Go Wrong.

Corrupt Stack (for a 2-stager)
Garbage Collector
Data Executioner (you're supposed to execute the code, not the data!)
Unhandled Interrupt
Unknown Error
OK CANCEL
Abort Retry Fail
No Room Left on Device
Illegal Operand
Spinning Beachball of Death
Three Finger Salute
Big Red Switch Error (named after the power switch on original IBM PC)
Blue Smoke Escape
Broken Pipe
Connection Refused
Bad Token
Not Found (think I'm going to use this for my next MD build)
Incompatible Type (or Type Mismatch)
Null Pointer (funnier version: Dangling Pointer)
...and IBM's legendary...
ABEND

“gangrene machine” on a green motor of course

Now there's a rabbit hole to journey down...I found this handy little page listing various Linux system errors. My favorite has to be /* Not a typewriter */

LOL

So my next two rocket names are now going to be "Kernel Panic" and "/* Not a typewriter */"
/* */ is comments, not the actual error. Obviously, someone was having some fun with the comments.

BTW, my errno.h files don't have that error message defined.

Sir Terry did not make up "REDO FROM START" It's from earlier times. Often just REDO.

Hang Catch Fire is great - if you're expecting a Bournilli lock.

And there's the simple "Fatal Error".

Back in my old fleet days, I came up with a couple of odd rocket names, mostly for various contest birds:

'Spoomert' a peewee payload model (remember that class of old lead weight payload competition?)

'Runt' egglofter

'Mini-Maggot' boost/glider. I have Mini-Maggot 3 in my current fleet.

I have accumulated a list of names that I like.
Some of them I have used already and some I will use in some of my upcoming builds:

"GRAVITY ALWAYS WINS"
"THE PROBLEM WITH INERTIA"
"ALTITUDE ADJUSTMENT"
"WHAT GOES UP"
"GOES UP-COMES DOWN"
"STRAIGHT CHUTER"
"3FNC" (THREE FINS AND A NOSE CONE - OR 4FNC)"
"NEWTON'S THIRD"
"REINSTATE PLUTO"
"VERTICALLY CHALLENGED"
"THRUST, GRAVITY & DRAG"
"PFFT, ITS GONE"
"PAYCHECK EATER"
"MAKES SMOKE - GOES HIGH"
"RUNNING WITH SCISSORS"
"APO-GEE WHIZ"
"HIGH EXPECTATIONS"
"SEPARATION ANXIETY"
"40 DOLLARS A SECOND"
"UPWARDLY MOBILE"
"PLEASE COME BACK"
