Polyspan and dope for covering tube spiral seam

Hi, I'm thinking to try a coat of Polyspan ( a kid of silkspan) with Nitrate dope for covering the tube spiral , did some try it before, the Polyspan can be stretch with a heat gun, but not necessary since the dope will stretch a little bit. Nitrate dope can be painted with spray paint. I already try with monokote, but I can't do it well on a tube it's just a pain in the caboose
