I just bought their 4" JayHawk kit with pre-fiberglassed body tube. The surface is a little rough due to the cloth with the odd ripple (nothing major mind you).
I was wondering if I should fill the entire tube (West System mixed with a bit of 406 col.silica) or painted straight on with a brush and sanded.....or perhaps something similar.

Thanks for your input

Filled West epoxy will work, but PolyFil or the Aeropoxy equivalent will be easier to apply and easier to sand.

I have always just sanded the tube then used 2 or 3 coats of high build primer, like Dupli-Color filler primer.

Doing that, you're sanding away a lot of the fiberglass, reducing the benefit of having it there in the first place.
