This is an unusually elaborate paint job for me to put on a high power rocket, but it's an idea I had that wouldn't get out of my head. It commemorates the "return to flight" missions that took place after NASA's three loss-of-crew incidents: Apollo 7, STS-26, and STS-114. 1/3 of the rocket is given a Saturn 1B styling with a tank decal and an Apollo command module on top, and the other 2/3 has a space shuttle styling. Conveniently, Discovery flew both STS-26 and STS-114. The design is capped off with decals of the mission patches.

The main black, white, and silver coloring was done with a spray and masking tape. The details on the nose were painted by hand, the 1B tank decal and Discovery lettering were provided by Stickershock23, and the patch decals were bought on eBay.

As the thread title says, the rocket is a PML Spitfire kit, but the rocket's name is "Perseverance."
