I started fiddling with this PML Bulldog kit when I got home from the launch at Three Oaks today. Again, I'm amazed at the quality of the finish on the nosecone and tailcone. I have old and new kits from Performance Rocketry and Wildman that have fiberglass nosecones, but the quality of these pales in comparison to the PML cones. With the PR and Wildman kits I didn't think twice about just sanding, priming and painting like I do a plastic nosecone. But with the mirror finish on these cones, I'm wondering if there is another approach I should take? Does anyone have experience with the PML fiberglass nosecones (6" and 7.5") in finishing out the gel coat? BTW, the rocket is going to be white like a traditional Bullpup missile--just don't know if I can, or want to match the gloss white of the fiberglass in its virgin state?
