Must this pitch for gifting a membership show up on every forum. It is very annoying. Displaying this on the main page is more then enough to advertise it.

You mean the pitch up^^^^^^^there? Yeah.

But I have a question about the membership. I've been using the forum quite a bit in the past year, and expect to continue for a while, so I thought I ought to pay to support it. But I've looked at it several times and there's one question that's been stopping me. It says "subscription". Does that mean that it automatically renews without additional authorization each period? I don't do that. I don't want some payment appearing on my account a year from now and have to wonder what it is, or perhaps perpetually charging my wife after I'm dead. Or, is it just a single one year/month charge? It's not clear, and I can't join until it is.

I clicked the little "close" button in the upper right and it went away permanently.

Surprising how often the obvious solution just plum eludes me.

If you get a lifetime membership there is only the one charge ever.

If you sign up for annual it will renew. BUT, if you really don't want it to, go to your Paypal and delete the recurring payment from that section.

Well Duh, I guess that's easy enough done.

But I do have one other question. For the lifetime membership, it says "37 years". How do they know?

I recommend that review these payments every 6 months. I have renewed some because I forgot.

Best guess. But I would think whoever is doing this job at the end of 37 years will renew it for you for free if you are still here. I may last that long, but not betting on it.
