How long does it take to show a payment received on your paypal acount. I have paid for stuff using pay pal but never received a payment that way.

Brent: Usually transactions show instantly or within a few minutes. I will get an email confirming I received payment, log in and there it is.

If its drawn on a checking account it can take 3 to 7 business days to clear. How fast you get paid depends on the source of the funds. So a transaction drawn from such an account DOES not appear instantly.

The only way this is true is if the bank account is not verified. If the account is verified it will be an instant transfer unless there is no funds in the bank account.

Then you must have a much superior Pay Pal account to mine. All my transactions drawn on any checking account must clear (3 to 5 days). Thats to verify funds so you dont get ripped off.

It's possible that a business account and personal account could differ also. I was speaking from a verified business account standpoint. All I know is that when I pay or receive funds, whether it's from my checking/savings account, credit card, or standing balance in the paypal account; the transaction is within seconds to a minute or two. I guess that's what I get for thinkin :shock:

My experience (over several years)...

Payments FROM me, whether credit card or bank account, transfer within minutes.

Payments TO me, regardless of source, show up in my PayPal account within minutes of when it's sent.

Transfers from my PayPal account to my checking account can take 24 hours, or 48 hours -- it depends on the bank I'm transferring to. I have two PayPal accounts, and each one is connected to a different account at a different bank.
