After a long but fun day of church, hiking in the woods and playing baseball with the boys, we had a camp fire and cooked hot dogs and sausages for a late dinner. As the sun was setting I prepared a Goblin, ARV Condor and Rhino for final painting. After masking and warming the paint cans at the (far) edge of the fire ring, I was able to paint the rockets before dark. Since it was cooling and therefore getting more humid, I held the rockets near the fire, at a distance that I could comfortably hold my hand for an extended period. The fire was well established and made from hardwoods, so smoke and particulates were at a minimum. The dry heat of the fire cured the paint enough that no blushing was observed. The boys roasted marshmallows and I roasted rockets!
