Dear modelers,

Yesterday I found a note on the doormat, saying the postman
had a package for me, but nobody was home....

From Orbital Engineering LTD.....

I think I know what's inside the box !

Thanks fellas ! That's really fast ! Now I only have to find the
time to go to the post office to pick it up, before they close.

I'll let you know what's inside the box once I've got it
here at home.

Erik.

Dear modelers,

Today, Januari 15th, the kit is laying here on my table.

A very lightweight box.... Must be balsa wood.
And it was.

The kit arrived without any damage ! Even the box
had no dents at all. The brown paper wrapping was also
undamaged.
It got here within the same week it was sent ! Well done,
men. Thanks !

Erik.

In this picture you can see the content of the box.

Many parts, made out of all kind of materials.
I noticed one funny thing : the small lead nose weight
is a .22 kaliber bullet....! ;-)
Man...... they REALLY want this thing to fly !!!!!! :-D

Also included, was a very nice letter from Gary Blinko.
It absolutely stimulated me to give it another try, at
the next design competition !

I have built small rubber powered airplanes before, gliders
as well, so building this one shouldn't be too difficult.

Actually launching a rocket like this one WILL however be
a new experience to me.

Thank you all, for the kit, the nice letter and thanks to everyone
who voted for my design.

What can I do for you all in return ? I think I ...no.. I'm sure
I am going to build this kit really well and fly it to the best
of its - and my - capabilities !

Greetings,

Erik.

Glad to hear you got the package Erik, and thanks for the good words!

Yes, the .22 slug was an ideal fit - you can get it right inside the forward end of the nosecone and it's almost exactly the right weight!

Only waiting to hear if Bill has had his now, then we want to hear from all the winners about your building and flights! AND LOADS OF PHOTOS ON TRF PLEASE!!!

Best Regards

Damage...

PS - Now working on the NEW Spaceplane contest for the Spring...

I'm waiting patiently to see a similar package. I showed the picture of Eriks box to my kids so they know what to look out for! I think it will arrive sometime this week. I'm very exited about receiving and building the kit!

I'm currently working on a few smaller kits and other projects to try out new build techniques in preparation for the next contest. I really want to get the Kitty Hawk SSTO built and flight ready.

Thanks again to Damage and the Orbital Engineering team for sponsoring such a cool contest.

Thanks,

Well it took a little while getting over the pond, but I just got confirmation from the Mrs. that my VMX has arrived!! I am very excited!! :D

I'll post pics of the build process and flight reports to the forum.

Thanks!
