I've got an idea that you could consider...

You'll need to find a box that they will fit inside for this to work though... Pack them carefully with some foam peanuts or something like that in order to keep your rockets from moving around too much...!!! ( you want to keep them safe...!!!)

Really the best thing that you could do is to get some of those labels that stick on the outside of the box... and then you should address them to me...

It should work great ( you know... to get them out of your way!!!)... Next... just take them to the post office or other type delivery system and then ship them to me....

Whatcha' Think...???

It might work... you never know...!!!

I'll show my wife your pic, lipp - she just gave me grief for the four birds I have on the bedroom dresser. I'll look tame by comparison, and maybe I won't have to move my rockets....:D

My wife "let" me have a small corner of the living room for display. It's got a 2-level wooden wine rack on it. A few months ago, I filled up the last spot on the wine rack, and despite my pleas, I had to start relegating some of the older/less purty models to the workroom. I rotate them periodically (usually after each launch), and she lets the big ones that don't fit on the rack sit on the floor nearby (Tres and Minie Magg). When we get a house, she's already said that I can make a nicely stained rack and hang them near the ceiling, out of the way.

Sending the rockets to oblivion would be fun, but what about organizing a launch with kids? You could get them into a simple alpha kits and then for those who are very interested, you could give away a few and promise to help them to launch them.

I thought that picture looked familiar. :)

I, too - will be showing it to my wife. It will not make any difference. She refers to them as toys , for Pete's sake.

You guys have no idea. I have to find pics to post. Between rockets and my other hobbies, my girl friend and my mother (a ton of my stuff is at her house) are trying to get me to get a storage unit. I travel for a living too.....Maybe a need a seperate rocket trailer..Forum member Adam Selene's work trailer is turning into a rocket trailer slowley but surely....

Plastic storage totes and bins are what you need. The long ones are the best. Put a layer of peanuts, layer of rockets, layer of peanuts. You can hide them anywhere and take them to a launch.

I agree. That's exactly what I do. The long Sterelite one's. You can get them in a couple depths. I don't use peanut though..I get them all over the place. I use old walmart bags. You can put rockets in them, and crumple them up around them. And best of all they don't melt or stick to models when you have them in your hot van for months...

Go to a liquor store on Wednesday or Thursday night. They'll have a ton of empty boxes with the cardboard inserts that separate the bottles. We use them for lots of rockets. Did I mention they were free??

Hey what a great idea! The only problem I see is that many of the rockets are kind of tall compared to the average bottle. Any suggestions?

Try to keep the box top flaps intact and put some tape around the outside to keep them raised. Now most of your rockets will be protected even if they are longer than the slots. You can really get carried away with this idea and come up with all kinds of ways to increase protection. How about cut down the insert half way and put another on top of it to extend the height. Also, remove a few pieces here and there to protect the larger fins. This cuts down on how many you can store in a box but its free. Lots of options. Grab some tape, a sharp knife and experiment!

I use old Wal-Mart bags too. Crumple them up and they protect the rockets really well. Additionally, they are much easier to contain and/or chase than packing peanuts when its windy on the launch field.
