I ran a simulation using OpenRocket and the Estes Star Orbiter. It says apogee on an Estes E16 is only 114m. That can't be right. Anyone have a Star Orbiter file I can use? I'm attaching the file I used.

Check your delay. My guess is you had 0 set as the delay. And once you've started working with the file, be sure to save it back out in ORK format, which (among other things) will save the motor configurations.

Setting the delay to a non-zero value did the trick.

Another question,,. I loaded a .rkt file but could not save it as an .ork file. The pulldown menu shows the option, but won't select it. Can I load a .rkt file and convert it to an .ork file?

You should definitely be able to hit Save As and switch to an Open Rocket file type.

Well, it doesn't. I hit Save As. When I try to switch to the Open Rocket file type, it keeps switching back to RockSim Designs. I even tried all of the buttons along the left side. No dice.

Are you using Mac or PC? On the Mac, it goes like this (can't remember if this bug is on Windows also):

Save as -> Change to OpenRocket. Then change the name of the file at the top of the dialog to have .ork extension. When it saves, OR will add a .rkt extension to the file name even though it is actually an ORK file. So then go and edit the file name and get rid of the extraneous .rkt extension.

Yes, this is a ridiculous bug, and yes it is fixed in the dev version.

Must be a Mac thing - I've never experienced that.
