Most of the pix are eye-catching and the content is obvious. Some are a little confusing, some on the forum might like the image source, identity of the people in the image, that sort of thing.

Please, no images, just the Picture number and details if you think it might not be obvious. For example, some of the newer forum members or newbies to rocketry might think of #86 "What's the big deal, oldguy holding a rocket?";)

#114: Me and my absolutely-stunning** then-teenage daughter, April, making ice cream in 60 seconds with liquid nitrogen about 15 years ago, for my Gen Chem class. I did the same for April for her high school class, and as soon as the fog started coming out, the teacher shouted "I'm suspending the rule about no phones!" :) Twenty-seven kids stood up and 27 phones appeared a few seconds later.

And it's awfully hard to choose, but so far my favorite is #109. For obvious reasons.

Best -- Terry
**I know from looking in the mirror that she got most of it from her mother.😁 Thanks be to the Flying Spaghetti Monster, rAmen.

I was just thinking about this. I was going to say that it's really cool how you can see the wingtip vortices in the trailing smoke in #500.

I'd suggest linking to the specific picture in your coment so that it's easier to reference to an image.

My general comment on that thread is that I wish some folks would be a little more discriminating about what they post there, rather than carpet-bombing with every image they can find. I stopped viewing it after a while.
Agreed. Too bad so many are taken from internet and not one’s personal library.

The photos that I posted in that thread are all photos that I've taken. For each of my photos (except the first one) I renamed the file with a brief location_description_date taken, prior to uploading to the forum. When viewing photos using my desktop browser, a mouse-over with the pointer over the photo displays the filename.

trouble is, not everyone can take even one photo of the magnitude of some of these. There would be very few photos posted if it was the criteria and the thread would die quickly too. It's about seeing great images of this day and age.

That's what the "Ignore Thread" button is for, I've got quite a few on my list.

Every photo I've posted I've taken....

Except for 4. One I'm in, two were given to me because they have great personal meaning, and one I downloaded years ago because it's just SO cool!

OK, first question... @hobie1dog, what are we looking at in post #59?
that is a needle going through a Groove in a vinyl record, just like this little video clip as the needle is bouncing back and forth from the left wall and right wall which is the left and right channels, just simply mind-boggling that it can transfer that into Glorious sound

Number 2.
I took the picture with my phone on approach into Orlando November 29, 2020. I took about a dozen a few seconds apart, the rest are junk.

If you rename the file with something relevant other than something like 034653.jpg then if you hover the mouse over the pic the filename pops up and can provide context. I have taken to doing that with my posts on that thread. See post #537 as an example.

You will see most of my posts recently have conformed to that method. If anyone wants further info on any of the shots (they are my holiday snaps mostly so far) you can PM me :).

I was thinking more about this last night.

I think a few of us posted things that we think are cool & interesting.. So, I posted a few satellite shots of neat things I've found on Goooogle maps. (And I'm a sucker for big & heavy machinery!!)

And I think we've also posted stuff we think others will like & might not be aware of.. And I posted a few shots of Montreal QC, but 'back in the day' & the TT Ilse of Mann races.

And finally, I think some would rather post 'found images' from the web, as if they post their own shots, anything on this forum is then property of this forum..

Mine are all mine, except the SR71 images. Those came from a video made from the First Baptist Church of Shreveport's TV camera. The pastor had connections. I had connections to his connections and I was given the video. The Blackbird takeoff was stunning.

I absolutely LOVE the picture of all the Schilke trumpets! I wish I had a Schilke. Instead, I have a used Yamaha designed by Schilke with a Schilke mouthpiece.
,,That's what Heaven looks like, selling the gold-plated B6L Schilke is one of my lifes biggest regrets. What mouthpiece do you have?
